Tim and Gilda continue their life-long fued over coke or pepsi with a race. They raced at their local senior center with Tim bringing home a win for coca-cola. Mary re-lives her childhood in the park as Rose and Jenny look on. The park is off 1-85 and has been their since the seniors were children. Abandoned Amusment Parks

Image
The amusement park I would want to vist the most is Pripyat in Ukraine. The bright yellow color of the ferris wheel adds a bright pop of color in the rather dreary environment. They snow gives an extra feeling of abandonment to the park and the surronding areas are deserted because of the cold weather. The cold also makes the surrounding trees and shrubs seem more dead than alive. Five other unusual places that would be of interest to photographers are: - The drain pipes in neighborhoods - older buildings with lots of nooks and cranies - wilderness that is off the trail - caves or underground areas - places where not many people have been No one as taken photos of the drain pipes in neighborhoods except for the people who build them. The only photos of them show them filled with water, but in Texas the heat dries them out and you can walk through them. I think it would be fun to photograph them because they have grafitii and its really fun to just hang out in them. You coul

Africa

Image
The photos I saw that Nick Brandt took were really stunning in black and white. He captured a very wide variety of animals and they all look gorgeous and have interesting subjects. The contrast between black and white was strong throughout but my favorite was the picture of the zebras shown below. The rule of photography used in this picture is line. They show up in the zebra and the dark horizon line against the clouds. He only uses a    Pentax 67II  with only two fixed lenses. This is important because it forces the photographer to get in closer to the animals. We talking of this Brandt says, " You wouldn't take a portrait of a human being from a hundred feet away and expect to capture their spirit; you'd move in close." He takes these photos because he wants to capture the beauty of african animals before their environment is destroyed. He hopes to raise awareness by taking these photos.

Great Black and White Photographers 3

Image
1) What caught my eye most about Ansel Adams photographs are the textures and contrast of black and white that he captures in the pictures. I chose these because they were really interesting and beautiful. 2) glacier photo- I see a wide crescent of white and the dark sea in constant motion. The sky is dark and cloudy. I smell the sweet sea breeze and the fresh cold of the oceans salty water. I hear the waves crashing against each other and they click of the camera as it captures the image. I taste the salty ocean air and the cold bitterness of the thick morning air. I feel the chill of the frosty wind as it surrounds my thick coat. I feel the cold metal of my camera as it presses against my hands. building photo- I see the thick layers of building stacked together going up higher and higher. I smell the fresh scent of something new. I smell the faint scent of many peoples perfume and cologne as it wavers long after they have left. I hear the chatter of others as the

Warm Up

1) I felt more sad as the photos progressed and it was very sad to see the grave stone photograph. 2) While the photos are of humans they do not strictly mold them but rather show their story. 3) No I do not think I could shoot like this because I tend to just step away in emotional situations like this. 4) I would ask him what made him decide to take these photographs and what made him decide to share them with the world.
